So what is an Insta Chat?
I recently implemented something really special on my instagram page. I had an idea one day about doing it and it just wouldn’t leave my head and soon became so important to me — almost like I was being called to do it.
I want to have REAL, vulnerable conversations with you all. So, I added a “chat” segment on my Instagram! In this space I will post topics most people are afraid to address and you can “join” any and every chat you’d like. I will be monitoring every chat so it is truly SAFE FOR EVERYONE. I really want women (and men) to have a place to turn to for advice and/or exchange experiences that can help someone else and even yourself.

When are the chats?
Every Monday at 6:30pm PST (topics are posted in the morning by 11am PST)
Where do we join a chat?
Every Monday I will post the topic in my Instagram stories. In that slide you will find a “JOIN CHAT” button. Click on that and a request to join will be sent to me. At 6:30pm PST, I will add everyone who requested to join to the chat for that evening.
Is it a video chat?
No. The Instagram chat feature I use in stories creates a separate and private direct message. That is where the chat takes place.
Will people be able to see that it’s me speaking?
Yes. Unfortunately here is no feature to block your profile picture or option to go to your profile. However, the only people that can see your words (if you choose to speak) are the people who have been added into the chat by me. So this is NOT a public forum.
Do I have to speak in the chat or can I just read what others are saying?
Absolutely! I understand everyone has different comfort levels and boundaries. That’s OKAY! I am just happy to have you and hope you benefit from it either way.
Will I be able to reference a chat later if I missed the start of it?
Yes! I have created a highlight on my Instagram page labeled “chats.” There you will find all of the buttons to join all chats that have taken place. You can request to join a chat at any point if you are curious to see what people had to say, get insight, etc. I will be notified at any time and will decided to add you to it from there.
Can I still be added if a chat has already started?
Yes, if I see your request. I say that because once the chat starts I try to give it my full attention. So I don’t always see the requests during the chat and have added people after it has ended. I typically keep checking it within ten or so minutes of the start time just in case people join late. So, to answer this question: I will certainly do my best!
What do you talk about it the chats?
Everything! I often ask for feedback and get topics you all want to talk about and other times I come up with the topics myself.
